• It is a place in Sivaganga district in Tamilnadu.
• Cultural deposits unearthed during excavations at Keeladi could be safely dated to a period between 6th century BCE and 1st century CE.
• It is located on the river Vaigai.
• The excavations thus proved that urban civilization had existed in Tamil Nadu since the Sangam age.
• Beads of agate, Carnelian and quartz indicate that they had trade link with countries like Rome.
• The Tamil Brahmi letters found on pottery is all names of individuals such as, Thisan, Aadhan and Udhiran, which are typical of Sangam Age Tamil names.
