Why in news?

  • The Minister of State for Housing and Urban Affairs has informed Lok Sabha about “The Urban Learning Internship Programme (TULIP)”.

About TULIP:

  • It is launched by the Ministry of Housing & Urban Affairs in collaboration with the Ministry of Education (MoE) and All India Council of Technical Education (AICTE).
  • It is a platform to provide internships to students and graduates in Urban Local Bodies (ULBs), Smart Cities, Parastatals of States/UTs.

Aims

  • To fulfill the twin goals of
    • Providing a hands-on learning experience to recent graduates and
    • Benefiting States, ULBs, and Smart Cities with the infusion of fresh energy and ideas to solve critical challenges.

Eligibility:

  • The internships under TULIP are open to Indian Citizens who graduate from an undergraduate program and can apply within 18 months of graduating.
